I stopped playing music mid-way through my mom's (only 40yrs old) fight with Pancreatic Cancer. I remember playing at a concert and realizing that it would probably be "my biggest fan's" last attendance and then had to keep it together before going up on stage. That was the last solo I'd ever played seriously - 2nd mvmt Bach I think. I stopped after that for about 2 years. It was tough. I didn't realize half of the lessons that she'd taught me until she was gone. Time is a funny thing. I wish the best for you and all of your current and future endeavors.
